Local Favours is a local community website and most people will be operating from their own Email address, Finding jobs to be done or to offer to do a job via email is still easier than reply to an ad in a local newspaper of shop window advert.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FAVOUR TO BE DONE

1: Always ask for references and follow them up.
2: If you are getting electric or gas jobs done always ask to see their registration certificate. Google or yahoo 'Corgi' and 'NICEIC' for details.
3: Not everyone can accept credit cards. Be prepared to pay by cheque or cash as required, or to use an escrow service or even PayPal
4: Never leave your children or child in any one's care without thoroughly checking references.
5: Make sure your home insurance covers you for public liability and accidents to people working in your home.
6: Always agree a price before work starts.

IF YOU HAVE SKILLS TO OFFER TO DO A FAVOUR

1: Make sure both parties have agree a price and how you are going to be paid when the job is complete
2: Please remember you will need to provide refferences and your customer(employer) will do checks on you and your background.
3: If you will be going into a stranger's home always tell a responsible person where you are going, what time to expect you back and what to do if you do not check in as planned.
4: When you have completed a job please always ask for references as these will help you to get further jobs at Local Favours.
